Topical or systemic steroid: Long-acting (Depot medrol 40mg. IM). Or "prednisolone" oral love gives good results in some cases.
For young children: We use the following methods of treatment.
15% Bergamont oil twice daily in the morning and in the afternoon locally. The patient is advised not to reach this compound to the normal skin area so as not to increase the color of the pigment of the effect of medicine and radiation. Oud can be used with cotton tips such as that used to clean the adhaan to place the solution carefully on the vitiligo area and also prevents the drug from reaching the mucous membranes. The medicine is placed only on the limits of the area to be treated and a mild localized steroids in the evening.
In some cases in older children, injections (Depot medrol, 40mg IM) are given to the biceps every two weeks for four full injections for two months.
Good results can be obtained, as pigment return usually begins in the third week of treatment.
The child's family must be assured that the treatment does not stop because we have found that when the patient stops treatment at the beginning of the recovery and returns again after a break from treatment, the response is usually difficult.
