Pituitary diseases:
Several skin manifestations associated with hypothyroidism:
- Thickness of the ends: The skin is thick because of the increase of collagen related to the growth hormone mobile leading to rough manifestations and tendency to form walls and skin seasons and skin folds in the scalp (vertical paralysis of the skin).
The skin in patients with vertical thickness (finite extremities) is greasy and pigmented and covered with thick black coarse hair.
- Pituitary insufficiency: The skin is thin, dry and bony, leading to wrinkles that appear mainly on the face and spots are pigmented pale pale yellowish.
