Alkaptinuria:
It occurs due to the deficiency of hemogensic acid oxidase, leading to the accumulation of humogensic acid that may appear in the urine.
Clinical manifestations:
- Early life: dark urine and black sweat.
- Atrophy joints in the spine and knees due to the thickness of cartilage muscle.
- In the older ages: the skin of the front and ears, cheeks and eyeballs are pigmented.
- Solid pigmentation in kind.
